Australian Style

Australian fashion reflects a vibrant, creative nation, rich in colour and fresh, exuberant style. The three main settings of Australian life—the bush, the cities and the beaches—and the country’s principally hot and dry climate have influenced who Australians are and therefore what they wear. Australian fashion labels are now sought after around the world.
Australia’s fashion industry has grown around the relaxed, casual demeanour of the people it designs for, as well as their love of outdoors living. But it also reflects the sophisticated, cosmopolitan and multicultural nature of Australian society. Most Australians are comfortable in T-shirts and foot thongs (flip-flops) one minute and appreciative of innovative high fashion the next. The bold colours of sunny Australian beaches and the starkly contrasting hues of the country’s central desert landscapes are captured in Australia’s fashion palette. And the rigours of the elements in which Australians live have often determined the choice of cloth used by designers. Colour and fabric have contributed greatly to an Australian sense of fashion, in cut and garment types.

Sunday in Sydney

I spent the morning with my family in Balmain enjoying the beautiful Sydney weather.

We stopped at Adriano's (Adriano Zumbo Patissier) to grab a quick take away breakfast.

I ordered the, blueberry and goats cheese tart and my partner had the capsicum and pesto quiche.

I couldn't resist grabbing a famous Adriano dessert masterpiece for Bella. A cookies and cream biscuit with chantilly creme and liquid dark chocolate center (for after breakfast of course!)

The food was amazing as usual. I love Adriano's unusual combinations and creativity with flavours.

I'm always intrigued by the macaroon cabinet. The flavours are so unusual !

Have you ever heard of - bloody Mary macaroons ?? or rosemary macaroons??
or
pancakes and maple syrup  macaroons?

That's right didn't think so.

Its definitely worth checking out .. Just down the street is his cafe -also worth checking out.
His bitter sweet hot chocolate is amazing - as are the African spice & walnut sausage rolls!

I will definitely be re-creating the blueberry and goats cheese tart at home !
 :-)
(ill tell you how it goes, hopefully well !)
 lol

PS. Adriano Zumbo is the pasty chef from the Master Chef Series* who created the famous V8 cake

- The line does get long and the store does run out from time to time - so its best to visit early,
plus you'll get it fresh !

Anyway .. grabbed a morning coffee and strolled around the boutiques for a while whilst enjoying brekfast. Spent the rest of the morning lounging in the sun at the park and then took a trip to Manly.

Sunday as it should be !

DOLCE&GABBANA WOMAN FASHION SHOW SUMMER 2011

This is amazing I love this collection. One of my absolute favourites.

The glamorous yet effortless hair and makeup, the dominance of white (my favourite colour) , the music ... The collection shows a more relaxed sensual kind of elegance.

A-maz-ing this will be my stylistic inspiration this summer.

Proof that florals are in .....

Valerie Tolosa

Here's some photos from the Valerie Tolosa Event that was held at Hugo's Lounge in Sydney.

Valerie's collection "Tales of a Broken Promise".

Valerie’s love of vintage fashion stems from her grandmother, a tailor who taught Valerie to sew and pattern make.

Her vintage inspirations are evident in this collection - vintage and romantic without being sickly sweet.

Very cute high waisted minis

Girly but grown up, Valerie has diversified her range to include must-have everyday pieces.

This dress looked amazing on the runway.
The movement in the garment was amazing - light and airy, almost goddess like.
the contrast of the fabric textures work well and the soft tones compliment the overall design.

There's me !

LOL

Love this - very Chanel
I would definitely wear it !

Black and white -
In my opinion, always the perfect combination.

Victoria and I both loved this dress !

Random photos of moi -
Victoria and I had the best seats!
We were right at the end of the runway so we had a great view ,
and by the time the models made it to the end we had completely scoped out the designs.
