Zen Designs

I have some exciting news - I have been made Ambassador for an amazing jewellery company called Zen Designs.

Zen Designs was created so every woman could afford to wear beautiful jewellery every day. Whether it's a dainty pair of Swarovski pearl earrings, or a stunningly eye catching necklace of quartz crystal and sterling silver, you'll always feel fabulous in Zen Designs.

Having worked in retail for many years, self-taught designer Lisa Lee knew well-made, funky designs were too often way over the budget of most women. After many educational hours of research and sourcing around the world, Zen Designs was born. Because everyone is different, one style is definitely not enough, which is why Zen Designs has everything from adorned sterling silver chains and leather wrap bracelets, to beautiful Czech glass and stunning semi-precious gemstones. From bright rainbow colours to classic monochromatic elegance,  every taste and occasion is catered for.

Not being content with just creating beautiful designs to compliment any outfit, Lisa was inspired to produce the Karma Balance range, by embracing the theory of "putting good energy out there, encourages good energy to return to you". This beautiful collection of  charm necklaces and wrap bracelets, empowers, calms and reinforces all that is positive in the wearer, by acting as a stylish reminder that what goes around, comes around.... so make it as good as you can. The feature of every piece of  the Karma Balance   range is a sterling silver chiming Harmony Ball handmade in Bali. Each ball contains a very small brass xylophone, which when gently moved, makes the magical chiming sound. The soothing sound is said to relax mind, body and spirit, with it's meditative tune.

Following on from Karma Balance, comes Focus Bands and Focus Wraps. Keep your goals and dreams in mind with this groovy wrist wear. Similar in theory to prayer beads or Sanskrit mala, Focus Bands help to remind you of a particular need or want in your life. Each features a focal point, which when meditated on, helps the wearer concentrate on this aspect. Made from every combination of semi-precious, crystal, pearl and wood you could imagine, even when you're being extra positive, you can look extra cool.

Rest assured that any jewellery from Zen Designs is made from the highest quality materials, Austrian Swarovski  pearls, semi-precious gems, mother-of-pearl and freshwater pearls, pewter, Czech glass, Japanese glass  and .925 sterling silver. Each piece comes with a 100% money back guarantee, as quality and customer satisfaction are the main objectives of Zen Designs.

Inspired and motivated by her idyllic surrounds at beautiful Redland Bay in Queensland, Australia, Lisa feels most creative when around water, and can't resist the influence of nature to create lively, stylish and innovative jewellery. When the creative process is a joyful one, the wearer can't help but feel gorgeous in a creation from Zen Designs.

Lisa Ho Private Veiwing Luncheon

My apologies as this post is so late , but Ive been so busy lately!

Anyway last month Victoria and I attended a Lisa Ho luncheon,
which i might add was ah-maze-ing.

The luncheon/runway was held at Pendelino restaurant and the three course meal was
designed by Nino Zacarli- owner and head chef of  Pendilino.

Lisa Ho giving us insight to her inspirations for her summer collection.

Lisa Ho : I dream up a character each season -  this year after the cold dark winter collection, I was inspired by snow, ice and prints.

The Lisa Ho prints are original artworks that are sourced from all over the world, and take up to nine to sourced and produced.

Lisa Ho's advice on accessorising this season-

''Not too many accessories - but make sure they are Strong pieces''

The Collection - in stores now

Example of Lisa's advice on accessories - the model wears one strong necklace with her outfit.

Lisa Ho and her models

A Beautiful collection - Lisa's  'ice and snow' inspiration was clear in the jagged ice like prints and cool colour pallet.

Such a glamorous event - the food and wine and the fashion, all simply divine !

Brownie Gift Box DIY

All the chaos of Christmas is building up as we grow nearer and nearer to the silly season each passing day. buying gifts for numerous family members is no easy task when stress levels are high and time is running out. Plus getting everyone a present doesn't come cheap. Some times its nice to receive a hand made gift. why not have a hand made gift that's edible too! plus its made out of recycled materials - good for your wallet, your tummy and the environment - What more could one ask for ?

Start with an old box (I'm using a perfume box)
and some old ribbons.

Remember to be creative ! Work with what you have available.

And try different variations -
bright coloured ribbons would be great for a kids brownie box

These glittery pink ribbons would be perfect  for little girly princess
ages 4-9

The gold is more sophisticated and traditional so would be great to bring as a gift to a Christmas party
The guests will defiantly be thanking you after they try them !

Because my box is silver and white, Im going to stick with the colour pallet and use silver ribbon and white tissue paper.

As you can see the box lid has a brand label on the front - so tie a pretty bow and stick it down to cover that label up.

Stuff you box with serviette's for height and lay the tissue paper on top .

Then make the brownies (do so whilst relaxing with a glass of wine and some music)

*I highly recommend using Bill Granger's recipe for brownies - they are the ultimate indulgence .

Chill brownies
Then cut and place in your box.

Decorate with fresh chilled berries
and finish with icing sugar.

Divine ! Who wouldn't love to receive a hand made gift like this !

Very simple and cost effective , so rather than heading off to the shops and forking out most of your wage this year, try spending time at home with the people you love and making a handmade gift !
That's whats Christmas is all about right !
