Labels We Love - Alex Perry

Alex Perry is Australia’s most glamorous designer, by virtue of his magnificent gowns and sensational red carpet evening-wear. Perry knows how to make a woman look and feel glamorous, and after doing so for over 15 years, his brand has become synonymous with luxury, prestige and quality.

In 1992 Alex opened his first atelier, creating one-of-a-kind explosive gowns, jewelled corsets and masterfully tailored sheaths. The collection appeared in Vogue and instantly became his trademark signature in his very first editorial shoot.

Perry’s wonderful sense of occasion helped cultivate his impressive haute couture clientele including high profile celebrities, social identities and personalities both in Australia and abroad.

He’s a red carpet favourite with celebrities Jennifer Lopez, Nelly Furtado, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman, Miranda Kerr, Elle Macpherson, Sarah Murdoch and Megan Gale.

Alex Perry has shown regularly at Australian Fashion Week since 1997. His shows attract a huge following and are often touted as ‘the most glamorous show of the week’.

‘Perry’ girls with couture aspirations can now purchase Alex Perry’s ready-to-wear gowns in his Sydney store at the Strand Arcade and selected David Jones boutiques at home and abroad.

His collections include special occasion pieces designed with dinner, cocktail parties, the races and red carpet moments in mind and feature familiar signatures of boned corsetry combined with raunchy and feminine silhouettes.

The glittering Alex Perry flagship store located within Sydney’s iconic Strand Arcade also showcases haute couture, red carpet and bridal collections.

In 2006, Perry debuted an accessories collection featuring stilettos, jewelled clutch handbags and bijoux earrings to compliment his evening and bridal wear collections.

Perry’s great sense of humour, quick wit and candid responses are made for television. Over the years, he’s evolved into an accomplished media personality and is frequently sought after for various appearances, including Australia’s Next Top Model (season four) on Foxtel.

Perry is also proud to represent Electrolux as their official Fashion Ambassador for the second year running. He’s always donated generously to charity and continues to support various organisations including AEIOU Kids with Autism, The Sydney Children’s Hospital, PEARLS and Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer.

Alex Perry continues to deliver high voltage glamour and dress glamorous women across the globe. To find out more about Alex Perry and his work, visit his website

Master/Slave Couture Weddings - Clip

Labels we Love - Master Slave Couture

Master/slave couture was born in Sydney 6 years ago, when passion, innocence and single-minded ambition met via a chance encounter. Today, the label is still managed and designed by the same two independent spirits who have managed to maintain a pure and idealistic mode of fashion-creation in a world of tough commercial realities.

The Master/slave client seeks out fashion that is not only on trend, but also individualistic, whimsical and daring. Standing out is not an issue because the Master/slave client is unable to bear the thought of dressing up in everyone else’s togs. For this reason, the label has thus far rejected the notion of mass production and embraced the tradition of the bespoke, the cutting-edge and fine-tailoring. The clients are as discerning as the designers, Eleni Kondos and Roderick Ng have, over these 6 years, cultivated a brand to be proud of. While constantly in the press for being “designers to the stars”, it is the daily grind of dreaming and materialising what is truly fashion-forward that is central to the tenacity of Master/slave in this world of throw-away clothing.

Women, Work & the Art of Savoir Faire: Business Sense & Sensibility

Following in the tradition of her bestselling French Women Don't Get Fat and French Women for All Seasons comes Mireille's insightful guide to navigating the working world, living the good life, and savoring every minute of it

When Mireille Guiliano became a senior executive and spokesperson for Veuve Clicquot, she took the Champagne to the top of the luxury market, using her distinctive French woman’s philosophy and style.  Now she uses those same talents and savior faoir to help readers pop their own corks and get the most out of life.

In Women, Work & the Art of Savoir Faire, Mireille draws on her experiences at the frontlines and high echelons of the business world to give women the practical advice they need to make work part of a well-balanced life.  With lively lessons, stories, and helpful hints, she teaches every reader how to identify her own passions and talents, improve her communication skills, balance work and life, turn herself into a winning brand, and so much more.

From acing a job interview or performance review to hosting a dinner party, Mireille tells it like it is as she shares her secrets for feeling good, facing challenges, getting ahead, and maximizing pleasure at every opportunity.

Sydney Stylists note : I am utterly obsessed with this series of books . A must have - Put it on the Christmas list for any women you may know navigating the world of business.

Most business books will inform women to dress in suits, act like a man , and be ruthless in the office. count numbers and cut costs and do plenty of over time to get ahead. Thank-god this is not one of those books!  It reflects on the importance of happiness, productivity and leisure. Living and loving your work and making the most out of every opportunity. It teaches women not to hide their femininity but to embrace it and use it to your advantages. How to command respect - Not demand it. How style, elegance and good manners are a girls best friend - not diamonds , sorry Marilyn.. Packed with great relevant advice from  the former CEO of LVMH and Veuve Clicquot.

So grab a bottle of Veuve and give a toast to life, love, work, and play !
